Keiman Mahabadi

Keiman Mahabadi was born in 1990 in Tehran, where he currently lives and works. He began his professional practice by studying painting at an art school and later at university. His Artworks has presented in 6 solo and more than 50 group Shows. His first works were focused on photography, but since 2009, his primary focus has been painting and drawing. In recent years, he has also worked in sculpture, urban installation, and photography. Keiman’s artistic practice can be divided into three periods. The first period began in the late 2000s and continued until the mid-2010s, focusing on the reproduction of his personal memories. The second period can be traced from 2018 to 2022, when his practice shifted toward the reproduction of archival images and images found on the internet and social media. This period is primarily known for works created in ink on paper. The third period began in 2022 with his fire paintings and continues to the present. The most prominent works from this period are his Mountain paintings, which he began in spring 2023. Currently, having moved away from figuration and portraiture and focusing on acrylic painting on canvas, Keiman is working on a series of paintings and drawings centered on the subject of the Mountain. According to the artist, rather than representing an external image of mountains and peaks, these works focus on imagined landscapes rooted in his inner state and psyche.
